01

Choose a project beyond matching your outfit

Tailoring and Enchanting may appeal to Mage, Priest and Warlock players who enjoy cloth equipment, bags and enhancements. That is a theme to explore, not a requirement attached to those classes. Other characters can enjoy the crafts too, while a caster may prefer consumable production. Before choosing, find one accessible recipe you would be pleased to make. If the process of obtaining its materials sounds tiresome, the traditional pairing may not be your personal best fit.

02

Give cloth a job before consuming it

Cloth can have competing uses, so identify the project you want to support before turning your entire stock into intermediate materials. Check how much the next item requires, what else goes into it and whether it helps your current role. Save deliberately for that goal. A pile of unfinished crafts is not automatically better than a tidy stack of useful material. Our secondary-skills guide also considers competing preparation needs.

03

Disenchanting has an opportunity cost

Before turning unwanted equipment into Enchanting materials, compare the item’s other uses: wearing it, giving it to an eligible friend, selling it to a vendor or offering it on the current market. Read the skill requirement and binding information first. The resulting material is not free just because no gold changed hands. Keep a small budget and inspect the next recipes you intend to learn so that your gathering of materials has a practical destination.

04

Bags and modest upgrades can be worthwhile

A useful bag can reduce interruptions from a full inventory, while a modest piece of equipment may help you through several sessions. Compare the material cost with alternatives before crafting several copies. If you are supplying a group, ask which item they need instead of assuming everyone wants the same enhancement. Avoid chasing an expensive improvement for a slot you expect to replace immediately unless you particularly enjoy making it. Crafting satisfaction is a valid goal when you choose it knowingly.

05

Keep the crafts connected to your evening

Batch your work during a town visit, then take enough supplies for your planned adventure. If the profession absorbs more gold than you enjoy spending, slow down rather than treating an arbitrary skill target as urgent. Our crafting routine and money basics can help. For another familiar gathering-and-production option, compare Herbalism and Alchemy. Choose the project you want to maintain when the novelty of a new profession wears off.
