The guiding idea
Blizzard describes four principles: keep the game approachable and familiar, make the world the main character, value the journey before the destination and protect the social experiences that make Azeroth feel alive. In practical terms, that includes no flying mounts, no level scaling and continued emphasis on preparation, communication and cooperation.
More world between levels 1 and 60
Forever adds and reimagines regions across the original continents, with more than a thousand new quests planned throughout leveling. Announced destinations include Mount Hyjal, Shen’dralas, the Riverglades and Zephras Isle. Riverglades is positioned across much of the mid-30s to mid-40s, while Zephras Isle provides the Skyborne opening experience from levels 1–12.
New race, dungeons and raids
The Skyborne can choose an Alliance or Horde future during character creation, with faction-specific access to Mage or Shaman alongside shared class options. Blizzard has announced nine new dungeons, plus the Barrow Deeps as a maximum-level 10-player challenge and Hyjal Summit as a 20-player raid destination. A 15-versus-15 battleground on the Darkspear Islands is also planned.
Systems and player choice
Legacy progression is intended to reward players who explore the game through multiple characters, while Camping creates shared outdoor stopping points with profession contributions and campsite buffs. Optional transmog, visual presets, HD and SD character models, restored Classic animations and official gamepad support are framed as player choices rather than one mandatory presentation.
The Fellowship take
Forever’s strongest idea is that leveling remains part of the long-term game. New regions, systems and endgame challenges matter, but the promise succeeds only if roads, professions, dungeon groups and chance meetings remain valuable. That is the standard we will use when reviewing the game after launch.
