← All guidesTwo answers to one crisis
The Skyborne begin from a shared elemental history but answer their vulnerability differently. High Order Skyborne align with the Alliance and can follow the Mage path; Windshapers align with the Horde and can become Shaman.
Choose the worldview
Start with the story and class fantasy: arcane self-reliance on the Alliance side, or renewed elemental relationship on the Horde side. Treat numeric racial advantages as secondary until the live game settles.
A discovery-first character
Because the race and its homeland are new, a Skyborne is ideal if you want the launch to feel unfamiliar. Avoid over-researching the opening story if discovery is part of your reason for playing.
