Arrival, services and level planning

Alliance players use Astranaar and Horde players use Splintertree Post, with Zoram’gar Outpost serving the Horde coast. Learn your faction’s flight connections before undertaking long forest runs.

Use levels 18–30 as a flexible visiting band. Check each quest’s minimum level, faction and class requirements; dungeon and endgame quests may exceed the outdoor band.

The route through the zone

1. Your faction’s hub

   Start with the quests clustered around your faction’s settlement. Alliance and Horde routes differ substantially; enemy settlements are not travel shortcuts.

2. Western forest and coast

   Combine western woodland errands with a coastal trip only when the levels align. Collect Blackfathom quests before heading to its entrance.

3. Eastern frontier

   Shift east for later wildlife and faction objectives. Check the next chain stage before travelling back west; several stories span distant corners of the forest.

1. Raene's Cleansing

   Alliance · Chain · Quest level 19 · Minimum 18

   Follow Raene Wolfrunner’s lead to Teronis’ corpse to begin the long cleansing investigation.

2. The Zoram Strand

   Alliance · Normal · Quest level 19 · Minimum 14

   Gather twenty Wrathtail Heads along the Zoram Strand for Shindrell Swiftfire’s Alliance assignment.

3. Bathran's Hair

   Alliance · Normal · Quest level 20 · Minimum 20

   Collect five bundles of Bathran’s Hair for Orendil Broadleaf in northern Ashenvale.

4. Naga at the Zoram Strand

   Horde · Normal · Quest level 19 · Minimum 14

   Bring twenty Wrathtail Heads to Marukai as part of the Horde’s Zoram Strand circuit.

5. The Ashenvale Hunt

   Horde · Normal · Quest level 20 · Minimum 20

   Speak with Senani Thunderheart at Splintertree Post to begin the Ashenvale hunting sequence.

6. Torek's Assault

   Horde · Event · Quest level 24 · Minimum 20

   Join Torek’s assault and keep him alive through the encounter, then report to Ertog Ragetusk.

7. Warsong Supplies

   Horde · Normal · Quest level 27 · Minimum 22

   Assemble the saw blades, axe shipment, oil and logging rope for Locke Okarr; this errand links several Warsong objectives.

Hazards and group preparation

Roadside faction guards, dense furbolg camps and eastern high-level enemies create abrupt difficulty changes. Contested travel can also be unpredictable on PvP realms.

Dungeon and group connections

Blackfathom Deeps is the dungeon anchor on the northwest coast. Bring a group and gather quests from your faction’s towns before travelling.

Where to go next

Move on when your remaining objectives require a group, are too difficult, or involve more travel than progress. Return later for unfinished stories.
